Men
Challenge is the key word to describe the purpose of menʼs ministries at Rock Creek Church. Two Bible studies are offered to create a challenging and nourishing environment. Iron Sharpens Iron (ISI) meets weekly on topical studies that delve into Godʼs word for application into daily lives. The “Socratic” Menʼs Bible study wrangles with the tough issues of faith in order to open up a richer walk with God. This group meets every other week.
Women
Connection is the theme for womenʼs ministries at Rock Creek Church. A weekly Bible study and a monthly Book Club provide an opportunity for women to connect and to go deeper together in Godʼs Word and in life. An annual womenʼs Spring retreat is also organized each year to build upon the strong network of women in the church. Our greatest desire is to provide an environment where a diverse group of women can encourage each other and walk through life together.
Students - SHOC (Middle & Senior High)
Engaging, relevant teaching, good discussions, crazy games, and food and fun with friends are what a student (Middle and Senior High) can find at SHOC (Students Hoo Obey Christ). Not only do the students meet each Sunday evening, they get the chance to grow in their faith through regular service at the Denver Rescue Mission and mission trips in the summer. They can also pair up with a mentor to help guide them in their spiritual journey. Of course to burn energy, numerous trips are held to Jump Street, Impact Sports, Extreme Challenge, Bowling, not to mention the “lock-ins” and camping trips that are frequent throughout the year.
Children - Voyagers (4th & 5th Grade)
The Voyagers class is geared towards 4th and 5th graders. It’s goal is to encourage students to take up the mantel of faith by studying the Church as it progressed from the day of Pentecost until the present times. Students will meet heroes of the faith as they take an in-depth look at the book of Acts as well as the letters of Paul.
Children - EXPLODE! (Kindergarten - 3rd Grade)
Rock Creek Church’s Children’s Ministry is a place where kids can be kids while learning about the truths of Christianity. High-energy teachers help them “connect the dots” linking basic Christian beliefs with meaningful activities and worship. The EXPLODE! program is for Kindergarten through 3rd grade during the 9:30am service.
Children - Treasure Chest (Age 3 - Pre-K)
The Treasure Chest program is for ages 3 through pre-K during both church services. Kids engage in crafts and play activities that communicate the daily Bible lesson.
Children - Little Lambs (Birth - Age 2)
The Little Lambs program is for infants through age 2. In this class babies and toddlers safely play, listen to music, and learn about the love of Christ.
Inner Court Prayer Ministry
Our mission is to make dependence on God through prayer foundational to our church. This ministry serves to offer prayer and support to the members and attendees of Rock Creek Church. We encourage you to give our team the opportunity to lift you up in prayer. We invite you to come pray with us for others.
Local Involvement
Rock Creek is not only part of the community, it is for the community—actively engaged in bettering the lives of people and communities in the Louisville/Superior/Lafayette and Boulder County area. During the winters months, teams work to provide lunch one Saturday out of the month to the homeless in Boulder through the Lamb’s Lunch. We’re also committed to Habitat for Humanity organization helping build a new complex of affordable housing in Lafayette. In addition, numerous individuals are participating in the pilot training programs Bridges Out of Poverty and Keys from the Community that make possible an ongoing coaching initiative called Getting Ahead. Getting Ahead graduates are Habitat client families being guided and supported to move from poverty to self-sufficiency. These are just a few of the major areas where RCC commits its energies and resources to share the love of Christ in the community.
Global Involvement
Kenya, Mexico, Uganda, Brazil, and the Czech Republic are just a few of the locations that Rock Creek has recently sent missionary teams. Teams have also worked with the homeless and poor in Washington DC , Los Angeles, and Juarez, Mexico. Working with orphans and widows has been a repeated focus.
We also support missionaries in Mexico, China, and Africa; as well as a local church planter in Colorado, a Campus Crusade for Christ missionary at the University of Colorado and a couple on staff with Youth With a Mission. Whether going, sending or supporting, our whole church is part of the accomplishing God’s mission. More than just a belief, it’s an ongoing reality at Rock Creek Church.
